Pam Iwanaga

Pam Iwanaga is as consistent as they come. She is a staple at the 5:30am class and always brings her infectious enthusiasm. Of course, if you ask her about this, she’ll tell you that she isn’t . . . because she is as humble as they come as well!

Recently, Pam has been killing her workouts. She has dialed in her nutrition and mindset and has seen massive PRs both in strength workouts and WODs. Once she is done with her workout though, she is right there cheering someone else on.

If you don’t know Pam yet, you need to get to know her. She is an incredible person. Very genuine, caring, and with a heart of gold. Pam, thank you so much for making us part of your journey these past two years!

Pam’s Interview

I feel like CrossFit does help with my daily life. Whenever I’m moving things around, some lifts that we do definitely come in handy. Or whenever I’m trying to take on a long day, it feels like a chipper WOD and I just remind myself to keep at it and chip away.
My favorite CrossFit accessories would have to be my wrist wraps, my belt, my lifters, and my metcons. (Haha – I can’t pick just one!).
Neither! Hahahaha… I guess if it was a life or death situation… I’d pick 50 burpees.
I love working out in the morning because it’s such a great jump start to my day and it keeps me motivated the rest of the day.
My favorite cheat food is anything with carbs, cheese, or desserts! I’m in heaven when I eat those.
Well first of all, the community here is amazing. Everyone is so friendly and encouraging when you are suffering in a WOD… you have a cheerleading section always. The coaches are great, super nice, and helpful which is always great especially if you’re a beginner to CrossFit.
Give it time! It’s definitely hard and challenging in the beginning and it kind of makes you feel discouraged when there is something “you can’t do” quite yet because you see everyone else around you doing it. But you have to remember, all of us started like that. It takes time, practice, and patience to get where you want to be and when you finally accomplish it, it is very rewarding and so worth it! 🙂
